Heres the deal. Got a great project for the ambitious guy who wants a crazy repair job...
I have a 5000 dollar Maxwell leather sofabed from Restoration Hardware
that I was asked to repair. Some info on it:
http://www.restorationhardware.com/rh/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod1185001&navCount=6
The project is doable....but a lot of work and I would have had to
charge him at least 2000 for the work.
The customer realized this and gave me the sofa; he bought a new one.
I am honestly too busy to get to this project.....
and I dont want the leather just sitting around.
So if anyone is in the DC area and wants a sofa that is now in
four key pieces: arms/sides....bottom, bed mechanism and matress (still in a sealed bag no less.... you can have it for 150 bucks and I will include all of the blueprints/concepts I have had for repairing it. You will have to buy some leather to 3 of the 6 cushions.
Truly...you could repair this thing if you had enjoyed sewing leather.
The leather itself is shiny, it has a very thin ""plastic"" layer melted into it so it wont ever stain.....however I have melted the plastic out of the leather for use in normal projects.
Ill take pics if someone is truly interested but I gotta get rid of this thing....I have too many bigger fish on my menu than to worry about a five grade sofa...in component pieces.
OR.........if you want the leather, its yours for 70 bucks. I will cut it off, roll it up and ship it to you.
