I am wondering the costs and availibility on Titanium Mail shirt, Haberk, Avintail, and Coifs...

Hi Kari,
Master Knuut of weldedchainmail.com does titanium. How quick and how much I can't say, but last time I talked to him, he mentioned that titanium was real expensive. Light, strong, but expensive.

Titanium is at least twice as expensive at half the weight. A 50" chest stainless T-shirt style shirt would be around $500 and weigh about 10 pounds. Titanium would be about $1250 and weigh about 5 pounds.
I don't think titanium is worth it but it does come with the 'Ferrari Factor' (Dude, that's titanium!).
If you can get me the following measurements I can give you a more accurate weight and cost:
1) Largest circumference of the Chest at the armpits and at the Heart.
2) Circumference of the Waist and Hips.
3) Smallest hole that your Head will fit through comfortably.
4) Bicep at full flex.
5) Smallest opening your Hand will fit through.
6) Desired Length of the shirt from top of shoulder.
7) Desired Sleeve length.
8) Front (from left to right armpit across Chest)
9) Back (from left to right armpit along the back)
10) Armpit width.

What size rings do you use?

According to his web site, it looks like it's all 5/16" (about 8mm) ID rings.
EDIT: Oops. That was just coifs and aventails.
3/8" (9.5mm) down to 3/32" (2.5mm?!) ID on shirts and such.

I'm discontinuing the 5/16" except for aventails as it doesn't allow me to make shop rate.
5/32" and 3/32" are half the weight of 5/16" in the same material (and half the cost), so a 5/32" stainless shirt will weigh about as much as a 5/16" titanium one at a quarter the cost.
