Lucas wrote:I bought a pair of arms from him. They looked really good in the pictures and the riveting seemed solid. When they showed up (on time) they were held together by ONE pop rivet. I sent them back, after sending several emails about the poor quality. Filed a complaint with paypal/ebay. No response.

So, I looked up his info on ebay. I called the number listed. Left four voicemails, no response. Weeks went by, nothing. I sent the item back with tracking and signature confirmation, so I know either him or one of his workers got it. Still no response. So I contacted a family friend who is a lawyer. He sent a letter threatening legal action. Boom! Letter was received on a monday, refunded by tuesday. Which leads me to the following conclusions:

1. Von Sussen misrepresents the crap he sells. (Arms were much different looking in pictures, plus multiple rivets as opposed to one pop rivet.)
2. Von Sussen ( the company-I don't know Karl personally, but the fact that he owns this business is shady enough-) is a liar and a cheat. Such poor business practices, especially with so many repeat performances, makes me believe the company will do anything for a buck.
3. Threatening legal action works! Send something on official legal letterhead. It seems to be the only way to get results from this company.

Disclaimer- I think armourers are people too! I have no problems with mistakes made, but actively trying to fix them vs. trying to keep the cash makes a very big difference. I think we all know which policy Von Sussen follows.

amen brother, that down right sums it up.

Well, ok buddy but hel stays in my house until check clears. client check clears after two weeks and i tell him send it off. I got negative for slow shipping. I even expressed the darn thing.

Yup -had many of those (although I generally recieved neutral feedback complaining of slow shipping)

I stopped selling on e-bay long ago. Armour gets looked at as being the same as the indian crap. Even if it doesn't it either sells for much less then normal or not at all. Then to increase the loss you pay e-bay for the sale and make even less.

Buyers can leave negative feedback for anything so if you don't want it they've got you by the balls.

Basically it wasn't worth making a few extra sales for only half the money.

I never have any stock to sell there anymore anyway.

FWIW, I've had reasonable dealings with Von Sussen. I even had an issue that he fixed promptly for me.

Of course, the pieces I got from him apparently aren't made to fit humans... I've had to re-work every piece I've gotten from him-even from filing down the sharp edges to re-designing the piece entirely.

I met him in RL in Drachenwald, long time ago.
There were no business transactions involved, but the experience was enough to never ever buy anything from him, or sell to him for that matter.

To bring this thread full-circle...

After convincing myself I would never see the money, Von Sussen finally sent me my refund.
