WTB riveted maile skirt w/ riveted brass edging.

Post by Sean Powell »

Hey all,

This might be a tough one. I'm trying to get a few details just right on a new 15th C suit (the one that is taking me forever to build) and I'm going to need some maile skirting. The skirting should be straight cut at the bottom but edged in multiple rows of brass but I don't know anyone who does riveted brass maile. I would buy a steel skirt and add the brass myself but I don't even know if it would be best to wedge rivet, pin rivet or maybe braze the brass shut. I don't want to end up mixing pin riveted brass with wedge riveted steel.

Does anyone have any sources that do non-butted maile in both steel and brass?

Anyone know anyone or are themselves interested in taking a comision to add riveted brass to existing steel maile?

Thanks much!
Sean
