I'm going to want an Aardvark eventually.
Finally, I'm hoping by the end of January to have a useable work area, I started re-organizing the garage today. Once I've got it cleaned up, all I have to do it build a work table and buy a vise to hold the stakes. Do you think a 4" "heavy duty" vise from Home Depot would cut it?

I hope to be able to give you all sorts of business, not being set up to weld myself.

Hi Adamo.

All I have is a 4" vice, it works for me.

I am also working on a portable stake holder that bolts to the work bench.
It should hold all the 1" shanks quite well.

in the stake plate I could leave out the 25mm box section and instead make a tapered piece of box for the sockets so that after filing the holes in the plate to suit a 1" stake is a good fit in the plate and is also held firmly in the bottom of the socket by the taper something like this

Hi Jack,

I spent some time in the shop today and built this.

Image

It is designed to hold all my 1" square shank tools.
I will be asking $45.00 for the stake Holder.
It has a 4" by 6" 1/2" thick steel base and a 3/8" thick steel welded socket.
Four 3/8" holes are provided for bolting to your work bench.
A 3/8" hole is provided in the center for knocking out stubborn stakes.

This is the stake plate I planed to build all along.

Hi Ckanite,

The standard straight ball is a 2-3/4" diameter unhardened forged steel ball a 1" solid square shank.

It runs $40.00 + shipping.
Thanks for looking.
