Tooled SCA viking sword and scabbard- !!NOW AUCTION!!

Post by Thorgrimr »

Here's the completed SCA sword and scabbard combo. The hilt and pommel are made from glued and sewn stacked leather. The handle was wound with sisal twine soaked in glue, then covered with leather. The furniture is glued and tacked in place. All of the silver color is from being painted with Testor's paint (for easy touch-up).

The scabbard is hand sewn from 8-10 opunce veg-tanned leather. The design is based on historical examples (modified to be a bit simpler).

$180, shipping included in the US or to an APO. I gladly take PayPal at m_kreitzer@yahoo.com

Thanks!

OK, so maybe I spoke too soon :D . I'm going to do this as an auction (but not for chicken feed- there's a LOT of work in this piece) which will run until either Friday at 10:00pm EST, or until I get a bid I like, whichever comes first.

Who'll start the bidding at $135 plus shipping?

If you can't sell it send it to your King- he's a Viking. So is the Prince.

Good suggestion. If I can't sell it by Friday I'll do that.

Michael -

Solicit donations to your gift, I'd kick in on it, maybe others too then you aren't out the work and the material

OK, we can do that. And I'll send it in the names of all who contribute. We can either do it by PM or by posting here.
