OKAY, this is what we did on another auction and it was well received so i will try it again:
I actually have TWO PAIR of these spaulders, identical, instock.
The NEXT person to post will win the second pair at the same price of $40 plus shipping since that was the high bid.
Of course herrhauptman wins the first pair....
First Pair SOLD

Oh wow I'm bummed. I'm definately up for placing an order on spaulders, possibly matching forearms and greaves too. I may have a custom request on a gorget, but one with a wider neck and more form fitting over the shoulder and lower on chest/back than shown with those on your site. However I was going for the darker coloration all the way
Any idea when you are going to start the blackening/blue'ing up again?

The heat blueing gave inconsistant results, but i have a customer in Ca who is getting very good results from a blackening process he shared with me. Just need to get the materials and do a test piece.
We dont do any custom work though. For something like that, we'd have to pass. We just have too much volume going out for me to take the time any custom piece requires. We have a ford assemblyline style business that is geared for high output. for me to even work on spring steel i have to remove myself from the assembly line, which is why spring steel has its own seperate queue as i do it Only when Im waiting on parts for other orders from shop monkeys, and i have some downtime.
People offer out suggestions for things theyd like me to make all the time, and i consider them, but its its something someoen else is already doing, or something i dont feel there will ever be a high volume for, i dont take the time away from work to develop the patterns. Thats just custom armory work, and we are about volume and price.

I eagerly await news of the the new blackening process. I certainly plan to order spaulders and greaves when you do.
THX
Yea, he sent me some pics which were very consistant and very dark, unlike the heat blueing process.
I am also very excited to try it. Last week was all about getting these auctions out because i have three new people training and I need to get them trained while its still slow (which means little money coming in). but they still need to be trained by spring which is less than a month, and orders will start hitting hard. Its like babysitting, because i cant leave to run errands, buy materials, etc. as they need me every five minutes it seems. Plus half the stuff they do, they screw up, and we do it again, so obviously only (I) am even working on spring steel stuff right now and in-between babysitting sessions...lolol
When they are learning, I have them make stuff from rusty thin-gauge metal, then when they finish i chunk them in the trash...LOL hence the auctions to support them, cause they sure havent been producing me anything of value the past few weeks.. They have finished learning leather work well enough to be useful, and they can be trusted to operate the beverly shear and grinder, and the final polishing of products. basically right now i am focusing on building up their speed in those areas
