I have a specific project in mind and I'm running behind on my pre-pennsic projects already. I'm planning to duplicate the arm harness worn by the Duke of Burgandy as depicted in Rene de Anjou's book of the tourney (not the guy on the cover, the other one). This is the one that appears to be splints over leather. (I am aware of the controversy about weather these actually are splints, lets save that for another time)
The elbows need to be pointed, can be built from a rolled cone and either welded or even riveted up the interior seam. The outside edge needs to be tall enough to lace on a pair of roundels that I will provide (unless someone also wants to build 6 roundells of various sizes with brass edges) I need 2 lames of GOOD articulation in each direction and not just plates with loose rivets.
They also need to be spring steel... Of all the stupid things I can treat and temper them and even polish them... I just don't have the time to cut, shape and weld them.
A) Anyone interested in this as a comision? (I can provide pictures and measurements)
B) Anyone you would recomend tracking down who dosn't frequent the archive and works in spring-steel?
Thanks all,
Sean
