Swedish Faulds?

Post by Leikr »

When I ready through The Armour of Wisby I don't remember seeing anything about them but would they have been worn around that time in Sweden? and with a Coat of Plates at that? I have seen a few people using them around the AA and wanted to know accuaracy. if not was there any other type of protection for the hips and butt?

Thanks

The answer is no. Protection for the hips & bum is maille and padding. If you feel you need more rigid protection than they did...hide some plastic plates in your gambeson.

OK that is kinda what I thought. I have been looking a gambeson design and such, Charles of Blois I reckon would be appropriate, maybe just a little longer from the hip down. Right now I am working on a set of padded cuisses as well to go along with it.
