Ottoman Belt for blousing maille.

I've got a maille shirt that I've split down the front and added buckles to. I'll eventually get around to adding plates to this as well, for now I'm needing a belt to blouse the shirt and take some of the weight off my shoulders. It wears out my sword arm awfully quick.

Anyone know of anything that even resembles Ottoman belts/fittings circa 1480?

Thanks

Benton

I use a sash, with a narrowish sword belt over it. I'll see if I have pics.

At Fort MacArthur this year - recreating the Battle of Vienna (in a very small scale) with my friend Rik Fox (yeah, THAT Rik Fox - W.A.S.P., Sin, Steeler...)

You can see the belt over the sash - and the kindjal stuck in the belt. The sash adds a nice bit of padding - especially when I'm wearing my maille shirt.

Sasha Bey, that looks awesome!

"Where does he get those wonderful toys" comes to mind.

Any resources you could pass my way for a sword belt and kindjal?

I'm really trying to up my impression now that things are settled in a bit more and I've got a bit of extra cash flow rollin' in.

Here's the buckle - it's actually a mid-18th century one, but it's pretty damn close to several 16th C ones I've seen. My friend Cristobal found this one for me, since she is the queen of finding stuff.

Indeed she is, I need to shoot her a message again soon. I've lost so much weight the clothing she made for me needs to be altered, ooooor I need to commission some more in a few months.

I'm still lacking proper footwear as well, but one thing at a time.
