Glasgow Museum buff coat and/or Dutch cloak

Post by Don Samuael »

I recently saw a picture in a book with pieces from the Glasgow museum (not sure which one), and there was a white buff coat, labled as a Dutch Cloak, or maybe a Dutch Cassock. It is a late Elizabethan piece, this one was unlike any I had ever seen before. I am wondering if anyone might have pictures of this item?

My fav buff coat and armour http://www.tforum.info/forum/index.php? ... i&img=7794 How can you not like that anime breastplate? I think those maille sleeves are attached to the coat. There's another one with attached sleeves like that.

There's a photo and discussion of that buff coat (p76-77) in the Real Fighting Stuff: Arms and Armour at Glasgow Museums by Tobias Capwell, 2007.
