Yesterday I posted about a particular bascinet I am looking for photos of. I am still looking for that one. However if you have any photos of original surviving helmets (1300-1430) you can share with me for my book I would be grateful. There are a few criteria that must be met.
1. You must be the actual photographer of the helmet.
2. You must have been allowed to photograph the piece (no sneaky pics!)
3. You are not prohibited from sharing the pics.
4. the pictures should be high-resolution.
5. the pictures must be in focus.
Thank you so much!

Thanks. I don't think there is anything 1300-1430 at the ROM but I would love to see the pics. I woudl not let me though. It was looking for a password. I logged into my Photobucket account and I still could not see your pics.

There might be a couple pics you'd consider in my album from the Kunsthistoriches, photos taken in April, 2006.

Have you considered getting in touch with the Flickr user THoog? He has thousands of pictures he's taken of armor in several museums, seems to have got a bit obsessed with it over the last few years. He does throw in this caveat:
"I've been contacted a few times by parties interested in publishing photos from my collection. Unfortunately, most museums only allow photography for personal use, and forbid publication, even for educational purposes. If you are looking for photos for publication, I suggest you contact the respective museum directly."
But of course, if you've already contacted the museum in question perhaps you and he can work something out.
