Howdy,
I came across this referance on page 5 of Chivalry by Maurice Keen:
"Didactic works in the vernacular, like Thomas of Zerclaire's great treatise on the virtue in the active life, Der walsche Gast (1216), had a still more direct impact. That particular work, which drew it's teaching ultimately from the schools but used extensively examples of virtue drawn from knightly romance, continued to be read by knights down to the end of the middle ages."
I've tried to find the book, but all of the search engines I try (including Amazon) don't get anything.
Anybody heard of the book or read it?
Thank you for your time.
-Aaron
Has anyone ever read "Der walsche Gast" (1216 AD) by Thomas
