strapins shields and such

I've decided to get back to work on my kit and take a break from some other projects, i want to finish my shield first, what i'm wondring is does anyone have any clue as to what kinds of strapping and stuff was used on a shield along the lines of these??

i know they are center grip, but i was wondering about straps to shoulder them and such.

Roman shields, which look similer, had a single strap attached to either side of the grips to hang it from the shoulder during march, usually from one of the bolts/rivets used to mount the boss.

If it's the Celtic guys at the top of the page,
far as I know - those shields have no strapping -- just an inline bar handle like the ROman shields.
(I think the ROman shields were modeled on those)
...I don't think I've seen reconstructions with guiges like Owen mentions for the Roman shields though.
...but then, I've not seen guiges on ROman shields either, so what do I know?
