What did you think of the armour?
Was it plastic?

I understand it was mostly constructed of aluminum. Even if it was OOP for Arthur (or even Mallory's Arthur for that matter) it still looked pretty.

Sarnac, I find it funny that you criticized this movie for being out of period. Do you have the same feeling for the portayals of King Arthur by the Elizabethans or the Victorians? They always had them in all sorts of armour. I think every generation has taken the legend and made it its' own. That is part of the longevity Camelot has earned. Just an observation.

I think "Excalibur" is a great movie - if somewhat Wagner-esque with delusions of grandeur.
I would like to see an attempt to make an "Arthur"- movie set in the 5th or 6th century with as much period gear as possible. That would really be something!

I just thought it looked somehow wrong - those guys in huge armour carried by what looked like shetland ponies. Cruel, guys, cruel . . .

Actualy, they were polo ponies. Most horsed shy away from one another, but polo ponies are trained not to, so they could use them in the fight scenes.
I like most of the armour, except that it seems overly bulky. I like the sleeker versions better.
