Anyone have some good pics of pauldrons with haut guards from this time period? Lookinf more in the German style than the Italian.
Thanks. I believe they existed, if not let me know.

there were pauldrons....
There were some with reinforcing plates with a very rudimentary flange.

They were not the big, high things you see later...

The good examples that are easy to get are a little later - 1490's.

The german pauldrons also tend to be smaller than the italian.

Thanks Wade! I knew they wouldn't be those really big 16th century ones. Historic Enterprises has a suit on thier page of past work that is listed as cf. 1450 Flemish design that has something like what I want. Just looking for examples so I can get an idea. :-)

There was this suit sold on Erik's site, but I cannot find links to detailed pics of it.
