So, I just bought a shiny bascinet...

...And I figure, why not build a few new kits around it? Now, I don't have any personal preference at all regarding specific date or location...I just like making stuff and spending money. I'm probably going to make multiple suits for different portrayals.

It's a bar-grill bascinet from Ice-Falcon, and I'm going to be putting on vervalles, a maille aventail and sewing on a period-style liner as per SoFC's article/instructions

Weight isn't really a concern...I'm slow because of a perceptual motor dysfunction, not because I can't carry the weight. Besides, other than the helmet and any maille...Everything is going to be spring steel.

So...give me some ideas for different suits of armour and costume! Armour with good hip protection is preferred...I kinda suck at this whole 'heavy fighting' thing, so I'd rather just throw money at the problem rather than nurse a continual supply of bruises.
