12th-13th Century boots

Post by Ld. David de Clermont »

Just got home from vacation and found some money waiting for me here at home. (Thanks, Dad!) Image Anyway, I'm asking for a good source of boots worn during the late 12th to early 13th century that would be good for fighting in the SCA. Now why ask here instead of the want ads board? I want authentic looking boots appropriate for my time period. I'm tired of making due with 14th century shoes. Any help would be appreciated!!!

I have to admit I am taken with Bohemond's boots. Lace or buckle for ankle support? I think I remember there being a rule against laces for the Templars. Will crepe cut the mustard in slick grass during melees?

Thanks for the replies! Image
