I've chosen England, 1340 as my period/place and I frequently find images from the Luttrell Psalter in my research. Due to lousy library loan options (it would cost me 75% of the price of the book to get a membership with the library) I was wondering if anyone had viewed a book of the manuscript and could venture any opinions.
The best book I've been able to track down is:

Mirror in Parchment: The Luttrell Psalter and the Making of Medieval England</A>
I've never invested in anything like this before so I'm a tad nervous. Armour and garb books are generally reccomended so I don't feel too badly about throwing my money out sight unseen.

_Medieval Rural Life in the Luttrell Psalter_ by Janet Backhouse ISBN:0802083994
about $20
_Mirror in Parchment: The Luttrell Psalter and the Making of Medieval England_ by Michael Camille (1998) ISBN:1861890230 about $35
_The Luttrell Psalter. The Additional Manuscript 42130 in the British Museum_ by Eric G. Millar (1932) fascimile in b&w; rare; about $1000
I too would love to see this ms. in a color fascimile or CD. I think online (like the Romance of Alexander) is too much to hope for. If it were to be reprinted the British Museum would (quite reasonably) choose an outlet that would generate some revenue for itself.
Hope this helps- Clare
