Looks like you're on your way to replicating the whole panoply from Quest for the holy grail, this is a dead ringer for the black knight helmet. (or at least that's what it looks like to me)
Hal, you're an inspiration to many metal pounders, keep it up! I am personaly fond of the globose faceplate or visor and I think it looks kickass on that saltshaker top.
Cheers
Does this helm look historical to you?

[quote="Halberds"]Thanks Thaddeus,
I suppose I am chasing an impossible quest. To build a SCA helm that looks historical.
Actaully I have seen quite a few helms that were historically accurate, especially at Pennsic. You just have to look for them in the oceans of garbage out there. I know Robert Macpherson, Jeeff Hedgecock, Patrick Thaden and Tom Justus all make or have made historically accurate helms for SCA, but you pay good money for them and wait. Heck, just surfing their webpages will show you that. So don't come to that conclusion and keep at it. But what you have in this helm I would also say looks better than alot of crap out there.So it is not a waste at all! Good job!
