Finally getting some money I think, since I am able to start working overtime again
I am looking into adding authentic steel swords to my garb, along with a Mandrake buckler. Will also probably do some fighting with these occasionally. Whats your opinion on these

I'd probably get the longsword and dagger to start, and try to decide on one of the one handers for sword and buckler. Would it be appropriate to carry all 4, or too cumbersom?

I have the Coustille sword and I love it. Some people have had bad experiences with MRL swords, so your gonna get mixed opinions. I

I find MRL swords far too soft for steel combat and way to heavy for realism and the quality varies far too much for my taste. If Albion had a 14th century squire line sword I would recommend that, but they don't have one yet so try these:

One of Grey's guys has the falchion and it kicks ass.
Also there is Lutel:

The 12002, 12003, and 12009 are great and all come with scabbards and belt hangers that look correct.

They also have different daggers to choose from. Over all they are better quality and better weighted than any MRL sword and they will stand the test of time unlike MRL if you fight with them. Plus the Lutel’s are only a little more than the MRL swords and sometimes are cheaper.

The Albion swords are expensive from what I can see, and the Lutels arent listed in American currency, I dont know what a CZK is and how much that converts to. Armourclass has thier listed in £ 's, I dont know what that is either

1 US Dollar = 22.90500 Czech Koruna
1 Czech Koruna (CZK) = 0.04366 US Dollar (USD)
1 US Dollar = 0.51398 British Pound
1 British Pound (GBP) = 1.94560 US Dollar (USD)
Hope this helps, I advise listening to James B. on those MRL swords too.
Best,
Leo

Albion has a new squires line that is rebated and is under $400, the most expensive is $350 right now but no 14th century sword.
Having played with several Albion swords they are worth the price for the sharps if you want a real sword. If they make a squire line 14thc I am there.

I may just get a dagger and bastie from museum replicas for garb then, and wait for albion to come out with a 14th century squires line. is that in the works or just somthing we hope will happen?

I'd love to get one but you can't find em. Lutel doesn't seem to want to sell their stuff. Thorion had a bunch for a while and sold em all.
I accasionally see em on ebay but they are just to damn hard to get.
MRL's are freakin disposeable.
I had a really nice blunt, i fought with it about 10 times and it broke
Babied it, cleaned it, hung it on the wall and it broke... on Kevin's helmet.
He has the exact same sword and his is still going strong. Mine apparently had a wierd temper flaw in it.
BTW evenryone see Drachus new SCA name?
