I seem to remember that at one time there was an online with diagrams and a little info on making the internal spring locks.

I cant seem to find it in my extensive Viking favorites folder (though admittedly a lot of the links that might have been what I am looking for are dead now)

Anyone got any ideas where to look?

I think the Mästermyr book has some images of said lock but its at home and I can't check it until tonight;(

The "prune people" viking book has some info on viking locks.

(It's called "the Vikings" but it has all those lovely line drawings and the people all look like prunes---as opposed to all those other books called "the vikings" with fuzzy photo's.)

Get in touch with Stephen Wyley (aka Sven Skildbiter) who has a web page at http://www.geocities.com/svenskildbiter/ - he has a plethora of Viking chest lock designs, and makes them himself. You might be able to buy one off him.

Captain Atli posted one on here about 6 months ago. Perhaps I can send it to you if I can find it.

Anything useful here? "Viking chest lock" by Douglas Sheepstealer http://artisans-showcase.org/east/items ... index.html

I've played with padlocks made by this guy, but I don't recall anything about the internal mechanism.
