The second is modern artists drawings of 15th century pictures. They do a reasonable job of it. I am always in favour of going right to the source, but the fellow who wrote the section on horse-harness was a Polish cavalry officer with a ton of practical experience. It isn'tr a bad reference, if you keep in mind you are looking at someone elses interpretation of art.
