So, I did some searching and came up with a few sites to get linen, but when I get to sites like here I don't understand what all those numbers mean. Virtually everything I'd make is gamboised (it was in fashon in the early 15th century) but I'm not sure what sort of weight and layering I should do.
Also, is there a cheaper natural fiber I could use for padding and liners? Like cotton?
From the fabric store:
- What weight of fabric do I need for a shirt? a jacket? window covering?
As the old expression goes, there is no accounting for taste. A choice of fabrics or clothing is a deeply personal issue (We are not trying to be overly dramatic). As a general rule, shirts utilize a fabric from 3.0 to 6.0 oz., jackets from 5.0 to 8.0 oz. Window coverings do not have standard weight. They range from 3.0 to 11.0 ozs. Care should be taken that the curtain rod is sufficiently attached to the wall.
