Celt wool pants?

havent nailed down time frame etc. but the multi colored plaid pants... what colors should i be looking at? blue and whites? red,brown and yellowish?

local store has some really good wool multi colored

Except for the blue, you can find shades of those colors naturally on the hoof (red sheep in Spain, not sure how red ;-) ).

I think that as long as you are not going for really bright colors, you should be fine.

Several re-enactment websites have samples of the bright vivid colours you can obtain with natural dies for the northern european area. The higher status your portrayal is the brighter your clothing should be to reflect it---note the irish laws on how many colours each status is allowed to wear.

More to the point---should you be wearing worsted or woolen spun wool? And will the modern cloth be spun and woven fine enough for your time period?

Wolf I would be more concerned that the pattern of checks was not to complex. Be sure to stay away from blatant tartans. Also I have full size pattern of the Thorsberg trousers if you want to copy those ya wanker!
