In case anyone is wondering these are references used to 'inspire' some of the McBride drawings in the Osprey book Late Byzantine Armies.

Halvgrim, I have a mate who has a facsimile copy of the Romance of Alexander. I might be able to persuade him to scan a few frames from it (be aware the book is completely full of illustrations, and is about 3 inches thick!).

There seem to have been two artists involved in producing the work, and honestly unless there are particular pictures you're after, if you get two or three examples of the work of each artist, you'll probably have all you need.

I think the Romance of Alexander your friend has is probably Bodleian MS 264 -- right? Dunno if that's anything like the History of Alexander at S. Giorgio di Greci, though I reckon it's the same fellah who's the hero in the story.

No, my friend has the Greek "Alexander". 14th century and Byzantine. Pretty cool. It's quite possibly the one you mention, but I'm really not sure.
