I just received a York rose livery badge from HE, and to be honest..its a little larger than what i thought it would be! I also am a little unsure where I should put it?

Thanks!
Matt

How is your lord's livery meant to be worn?

Sorry, I missed the rose bit, my bad.

Had I stopped and digested I would not have asked such a dumb arse question, my apologies.

Have a look at these images by Graham Turner, the 'Dave' that he refers to in his write up is Dave Key, a rather diligent medievalist and his suggestion, based on contemporary accounts is to in some cases place the badge on a bend*, the sash like thing on the man in the jack, certainly for common commisisoned men. Your badge looks a little nice for the common sort, so,

You can also see the second rider with his on his front left breast.

*mentioned in Paston letters and almost certainly are featured in the Venus and Mars hausbuch, of the Wolfeggs.

Thanks!

Don't worry... I have more than my share of "brain malfunctions"!

I hope my reply didn't come across as snarky!

Thank you very much !

Matt

**ADDED**
I actually think that doing the sash might work out perfectly for me, that way I can wear it over any other outfit I have on.

Thanks man! You helped me out perfectly!
