Post by Gottfried »

Dose anyone know a “how to” on turn shoes? I am interested in making a pair of Landsknecht Kuhmauler and am not exactly sure how to pattern it.

Well I just made a pair of 14th century turn shoes (I'm wearin em now) and I can give you some info. did you want to know construction with lasts or just hand sewing? I can't help you too much with the landsknecht shoes but I can help you with construction. (are those the square shoes? if so those are cool)

heres a couple links:

http://www.personal.utulsa.edu/~marc-ca ... OEHOME.HTM

the latter one has a great tutorial on the using of lasts on it somewhere I believe.

Just let me know which method of construction you are going to use and I can help you out. I myself will be trying another pair this weekend using homeade lasts (Ghetto lasts) from plaster of paris molds.
