Medieval & Renaissance Treasures from the V & A Muse

Post by Tom B. »

A few weeks ago I saw this exhibition at the Speed Art Museum in Louisville, KY. If it is going to be near you I would recommend going to see it.

I think its next stop is at the Met.

It's going to be at the Met starting May 20, then the High Museum of Art in Atlanta starting September 13.

See http://www.vam.ac.uk/exhibitions/tourin ... index.html for more info.

(Also, http://larsdatter.com/wordpress/?cat=3 is where I post news & links about museum exhibits that are opening up.) :)

A bunch of us folk from the Barony of the Flame (Nonna, Bianca, AEric, Tinker, and myself) went to go see it when it first got here. Alot of nice pieces. I particularly liked the Angelo Saxon broaches.

I got a few pics before I was told I couldn't take any. :(

If you look closely at one of the ivory tryptychs, you'll see a guy being attacked by his dinner. There is a crab hanging off of his eyebrow.

According to this site:
http://www.artxworld.com/recensioni_arte.aspx?opera=fae383b9-3f7f-4e06-a481-2c1e9112e5d6

A catalogue will be available in the Met bookshop.

Way Cool! Get to see them in person, and then have the catalog photos for reference.
