Thirded.

There is no way I would let you get near me in the battle lines. NO WAY. I would have you killed from thirty yards off!

That is, by far, one of the coolest rigs I've ever seen...damn well done...Now you need a helm with a Benin mask as a face plate, have it blued, and that kit would be perfect!

hehe...no, no, no...Of course not!

With a rig like that, If you didn't have a Benin War Mask for a helm I would be very, very disappointed (Especially like the masks of the Edo people)!

This sounds like a job for Ugo!

On that note, I'd love to see a Tlinggit kit. As Karl Helweg says, "what do you call a 40-man war canoe? You call it a longship."

Gotta agree, Nkante, that's a very nice kit.

We have quite a few people of color in Meridies. I'll try to find some pics for you. Our Trumpet Herald (list mistress) Lady Celeste is African American, as is Seth's foster-squire, THL Khalil (he's actually squired to Seth's former knight, but moved over here from Gleann Abhann) and there are quite a few others. He's got a nice Arabic kit, and is a pretty accomplished costumer as well, so he always dresses to the nines.

I'm amazed no one's posted a picture of Duke Tomuki/Tomeeki (however Shawn's spelling it these days).

I wish half the people in the SCA paid as much attention to the details of their kit as it relates to their persona as you did. Excellent kit!

I love threads like this. Reminds me of one of the best things about Pennsic or Gulf Wars -- people-watching; seeing and meeting such a diverse bunch of people with such a marvelous variety of personas and kits.

I want to thank everyone who contributed. I have created the slide show and I am pleased with the diversity pictures you folks all helped me find. I am impressed at all the wonderful people who are involved in SCA.

This thread is awesome. I'll ask my lady if I can post a few pics of her. Shes Lebanese/French and has a Spanish persona.

Dude. That. Rawks.

The only problem with that is, I don't know how to send copy, and also; I am using it in small capacity, if I post it to web it bacomes a large capacity item, and if I accidentally used a pic someone is unhappy with then they will be upset at it being in slide show.

I think it is better to remain an anonymous item, and everyone in it be anonymous also.

Nkante,

I add my admiration for rig. Remarkable and perhaps one of the coolest I have seen.

Question for you: can you post a closeup of your foot-gear? If I can see correctly, it appears to be a boot with a sandal and a foot painted on them, is that correct?

Brother Long-tall get your head out of the clouds, I'm 5' 4" tall... in turn shoes! And Robyn is well...inspiring, to say the least. Just think, if she wasn't playing for the other team, what beautiful teeny tiny terifying babies we could make....
