The way it looks like he's got it made is just 4-in-1, but not actually connected to the fourth ring. Made this way, it won't spread out more than regular 4-in-1, but it will have spaces where a sword point or arrow can easily penetrate (not a big deal to most of us, though). Sad thing is, it's not any lighter than regular 4-in-1 maille, but it's a lot less protective.
Not to dig on this guy or anything, but this reminds me of one of the things that gets me about the M.A.I.L. site: someone makes a mistake in an existing weave, and all of a sudden they think it's a new pattern. Just because you can make a mistake consistently doesn't mean you've invented a new weave!

Just to add that I have a 4in1 spring steel Hauberk, butted (actually made with square section spring steel washers, and not by me, too much hard work). Anyway - for those that are concerned over having to repair butted maille I have found with spring steel it just doesn't happen! I purchased my hauberk about 14-15 years ago, have fought steel and full contact steel in it, and occasionally SCA this year - never lost a link or had to repair it in anyway!
Nice looking mail Vladimir!

It's lighter than mine! (mine weighs in at about 60 lb - approx 30kg)
Not sure about your neck line at the front - I think that exposes too much. Mine is higher and squarer, a little like the back of yours.
You have some nice pieces on your site.
I' particularly like the sallet with bevor (termed on your site as " Saled with the chin strap")
and also the Kulaks are very interesting!
Do you have a price list? Or prices for the two items I've mentioned?

The technical nut, is intended for not a usual nut dangle. It is braided on the machine tool from wire, section wire square, 2.4x2.4 mm. To name mark began precisely I can not (if strongly it is necessary under engineering manual I shall look) apparently spring. Quenching not strong, rings gathered after quenching (the part of rings has broken) thus we have those that bent.

Vladimir - I meant what thickness steel do you use for your plate armour, helms and so on?
2.4mm square is quite thick! That should stand upto a lot of hitting!
