There is some amazing stuff in this thread. I LOVE seeing so many people putting such effort into their kits.

All I can say is THANK YOU!

...and that, sadly, my summer has been too busy to change anything on my kit, though I have some stuff started....so I am still in this:

I am having my maile shirt lengthened, replacing my cuisses and greaves, cote and heraldic cote, possibly my lower arms as well.
I look forward to getting it all done.
although the cote, cuisses and herladic cote are made by my wife, so no real burden on my part.
I am trying a new method for leather shapening and if it goes well I will finally offer my splinted greaves on my site.

Oh yeah. That just sucks. You should send it to me. I'll throw it in the creek with my tools.

That is a superb kit. NOt sayin' you shouldn't do whatever improvements you're working on but give yourself some credit.

Was he the guy on the left, or the right in that picture?

They're both about the same size.

It's a nice kit but when are you trying to be from?

The helm is 12th maybe 13th cent at the latest and the rest of the armour looks to be mid 14th cent. A bascinet or great helm would fit better with the armour.

Did some tweaking on the harness while recovering from broken knee ... current hard suit. Have been using wool wraps for the knees with great success.

Going to do some 'bling' for the sword belt along with belt tips, etc. also pending a solid globose bp from Murdock. Alas, missing the dagger belt/scabbard from these pics. Will work on heraldic surcoat over the winter.

These are the only pics I can find of my newest incarnation, I'll get my wife to take some next week. I'm in the black and checky "hoody" on the right jumping the shield wall.

You can help me find another (better looking) option that keeps my hands happy and safe!

I had SS clamshells but they chewed the hell outta my nice weapons, were way heavy, were very restrictive of movement, protected only kind of ok and still didnt look very right (in fact they stood out even more).

The gloves are goalie gloves (thats why they are bulky), they take a hell of a beating and my hands are happy.

The gloves "were" bright red and blue before I painted them black!
