Clovenshield......A product review

Here is my review of Clovenshield on a 1-5 battle axe scale (1 being the lowest)

Weapons mix: 5 Battle Axes

Agility/Mobility 4.5 Battle axes (they eat an awful lot of bacon..but they have a deuce and a half)

Tactics/Command and Control/Unit Cohesion: 5 Battle axes (Random and Nissan are very good at what they do.)

Brutality/All around thugliness: 5 Battle Axes

Delivery as promised: 5 Battle Axes

Overall 4.9 Battle axes

We were drinking at a party and Nissan said "Wouldn't it be cool if someone did a product review of Clovenshield on the Archive" and I said that I could do that, and being a man of my word here it is.

Seriously, Nissan and his guys have done a great job for Northshield the last 2 pennsics and the last 3 Border Skirmishes. We have had a lot of fun working with them and they have done everything that we have asked of them and more.

Thanks for the nice review. Northshield is a pleasure to do business and murder with, and having an employer who is a former marine doesn't hurt one little bit.

I'd also like to give some props to the Black Talon boys I subcontracted for this gig. They did good work.

So, did they actually cleave some shields, imbed cloves all over them, or is that just an advertising gimmick?

No cloves, damn few shields. Lots of spears and axes though. Just a name Random and I made up in 1976.

The first three guys in the gang , me , Random Wronghand and Master of Arms Aeleric Smythe have a combined 108 years of SCA combat experience.

The next ten guys in have at least 20 years each.

We have some kids coming up and that is cool, because it means we can keep going. But they irritate me and I want them off my damn lawn.
