Anyone have pictures of Statue: Jehan de Beaumanoir in Dinan

Post by Sean Powell »

Anyone have pictures of the statue of Jehan de Beaumanoir in Dinan France other then the one in Wikipedia. I'm specifically looking for details of the knee wings, elbow wings and gauntlets but I will take anything I can get. Jehan commanded the French in the Cot30 so there are probably worse references for 1351 armor then this statue... Also if anyone happens to know when and by who the statue was made, that would be useful also.

Thanks much!

Sean, do you have any dating on that statue? It doesn't look like 14th century work to me

The legs look 15th to me, the body early 14th.

Well bummer. No point in copying Victorian era reproductions. I'm going to have to dig deeper into effigies of the time period.

Thanks all!
