Possible "Military Through the Ages" Event in Main

Post by MJBlazek »

Hi all!

I just met the curator for Old Fort Western here in Augusta Maine.
www.oldfortwestern.org for more info.

I tossed out the idea of doing a big Military Through the Ages type thing, and he seemed to get very excited about the prospect.

I was just putting out the feelers to see if anybody here might be interested?

Depending on the when, Wolfe Argent would probably be interested in putting up an encampment.

I could be depending on timing; I have some friends living in Portland I would love to visit.

I could probably make it, depending on when. I think my Landsknecht kit has gotten okay enough for something like that, but my camp stuff is still feeling more 18th century.

I'd love to see and be part of something like this so close to home, and Fort Western is a pretty neat place.

What is the progress on this, if any? Is there any point of official contact? For the event to be a success, it has to be planned out a good half-year or more in advance, as most groups schedules fill up for the next year, beginning in November, December, and January.
