Post by MalcolmdeMoffat »

“Oyez! Oyez! Oyez!

Unto the Kingdom of Drachenwald do I, William Gifford, servant of His most noble and lawful Excellency Ritter Maximilian Graf von Brandenberg, bring His Excellency’s greetings and salutations.

Let all princes, lords, barons, knights and men-at-arms of the marches of Bavaria, Suabia, Franconia, Thuringia, Saxonia, the Palatinate, Westfalia, Bohemia, Flanders, and those of noble heritage resident in the free towns of the empire and the Hanseatic league, and all others of whatever marches that are in this kingdom and all other Christian kingdoms, who are not banished or enemies of the King our lord, may God save him, know that my noble and powerful liege, His Excellency Ritter Maximilian Graf von Brandenberg, hereby sends greetings and asks you to join him in a Deed of Arms as His Excellency will stand ready to meet these said princes, lords, barons, knights and men-at-arms on the field to cross axe or sword in striving for some honorable advancement;

Item that I, William Gifford, sworn into His Excellency’s service as one of his squires, have been allowed and ordered by His Excellency to also stand ready on this day in pursuance of some deed of arms;

Item, that this said Pas de Armes shall take place on the 5th day of September which is two days before the feast of the birth of Our Holy Mother of God, in the Barony of Knights Crossing, in the hamlet of Grossumstadt, at the road from Grossumstadt to Raibach, from the ninth hour of the day until the sun sets or all comers have been met to their pleasure;

Item that proper weapons shall be made by the craftsmen in His Excellency’s service and shall be at hand during the said Pas de Armes so that all challenges will be fought without undue advantage or shortcoming.

Item that all comers striving for advancement in prowess and virtue on this day shall receive a gift from His Excellency’s hand in celebration of honor and chivalry.â€
