"WISBY" gauntlet kits for sale

Post by whonew »

10 kits almost complete 2 already sold
All pieces needed to make a Wisby "style" pair of gauntlets
All pre-orders get free S&H and free pair of finger bucklers
The gadlings/finger DO NOT "ground out" on the handle [hence the bucklers]
All these kits are 16G mild
$275USD
I sell this style finished for $475 normally
This is a "Papa needs new swords sale"

Hey whonew, just saw this. Question, do you predrill all the rivet holes, and do you supply some sort of directions for those of us who are, shall we say, a bit stoopid?

And for anyone, since these do not ground out, to make them legal, do you simply need to pad the individual fingers?

All holes are predrilled.Knuckle bucklers are included to make them SCA "legal" or you can pad the fingers as per you local marshal requirements. I will give all instruction material needed and always available for email assisstance. Hope that helps. cheers

Definitely. Hopefully I can get my shite straight, as once I pay my other bills, I wanna order a pair. Blued metal on some nice gloves, those would be perfect for my late or early period stuff.

And I asked because I would prefer not to use finger buklers unless absolutely (read: anal marshal won't let me fight) necessary.

Re: padding fingers, I just wear a padded glove under the gauntlet. Simple and no disassemble required.

How much would you charge for just the finger pieces? (with the two thumb pieces)

Do you sell just the fingers and thumbs? I wear demi-gauntlets while jousting for better grip on the reins but would love to have some covering on my fingers (just in case of an errant lance tip . . . ).

sooo....Whonew, did you decide on a price for just the finger and thumb tip and long plates and knuckle gadlings as a kit? I'm going to build up a set of Zweihammer gauntlets and leave off some plates to use as a demi, and your finger plates are some of the best I have seen, and would work well for this project.

This set is "burnished" stainless steel . A kits like this in 16GA mild steel is $125 plus S&H +$25 for bluing
