WTB: Old Leather Armour/ Armour Bits

Post by Lothar qui et Sigimund »

I'm interested in buying old leather armour that is no longer in use.

I had an old leather breast/back plate laying around that no one in my household wanted. The leather has lots of holes from being resized numerous times previously, but otherwise was in ok shape, just not really good armour.

When a leather project came up which I wanted to be made out of a good sturdy leather, I decided to use the old breastplate so that the project would have some character.

I am happy with the result, and am interested in doing more projects like it. So, I've decided to come to the archive to see if anybody else has old armor laying around they no longer want.

What I'm looking for is old leather that anyone may have just laying around collecting dust. Beat up isn't a problem at all, I like the quality that adds. However, something where the leather is just unserviceable (rotted, completely cracked) etc may go to far.

If people are interested in having me turn their old armour into something for them (bags, etc), that can be arranged. I'm also interested in just buying the leather outright. I'm not looking to spend a lot of money on these projects though.

If anybody has anything, I'd quite like to hear from you.

To Illustrate: The bag I made followed by the breastplate it was. I needed something big enough/strong enough to hold all my school books.
