CotT at Gulf Wars?
I seem to remember a Combat of the Thirty-type event at Gulf Wars, or at least there was talk of one.
Did it happen? What was it called? If it did happen are we looking at another one this year?

It was called a Deed of Arms. And it did indeed happen (although I was not able to get out of the booth to watchKai wrote:I seem to remember a Combat of the Thirty-type event at Gulf Wars, or at least there was talk of one.

IIRC, Ceddie was one of the organizers.

Ahh, yes, that name rings a bell. Duh. All it takes is a few weeks away from the AA and the memory starts to fade. Bad me.

Video from last years deed and the deed from the previous year as well.
Sir Cedric has been one of the organizers for both years. I hope this become a reality as I am keen to join the fray again.

Want to bump this, as we are three months out and there hasn't been a firm confirmation or denial.
Is it still going on for next Gulf Wars? I, for one, truly hope so.

I just love watching videos and seeing pictures like these.
I usually can't make GW since I use most of my vacation time for two weeks at Pennsic, but I will be seriously considering an extended weekend just so I can join something like this deed.

Not a CoTT!
It is simply The Deed!

Sir Leo... The Deed alone was an awesome experience and I highly recommend it.

Your Royal Highness,
Or others, where is the fighting schedule posted for this Gulf Wars? What are the rules/customs/announcements for this deed? Is there a sponsor? I have a long way to go and extremely limited baggage so any advanced notice would help us to be able to plan for this war.

I have heard of no established amount and I have had the honor of participating both times it has taken place at GW.

Per Cedric,
We will be using the same rule set as last one.

this is what we have used for the past two years and it has worked really well.
With a little luck, this is going to be the best year yet!

looking for feedback
please give feedback on what is needed for the kit to be Deed worthy. I plan to build greaves next and loose the boots. I also have a nice angelwing tunic that goes over the fighting shirt I am wearing in the photos.

Just a quickie question. Are we concentrating on trying to move in on the Cot30 (ala Pennsic) or more of a general 14th C. Deed? I'm pretty sure I can work in on either, but wanted to know if I should speed up my early/mid 14th C. harness to show off at Gulf. Also are there any plans for a 'group' rest area/pavilion, etc. for those of us in the deed to take our breaks and/or chat/game with our ransom'd fellows? I've the gut feeling that after the Deed that there will be a good handful that would enjoy going out for some more prowess displays as well as dicing and wagers if not chess and other games and entertainment.
