SCA finger gauntlets

Post by Kang »

Is there anyone who sells finger kits? I'd like to get some for SCA fighting. My mittens gotta go.
Is there anyone who could hook me up with good patterns for fingers?
I really like the Bifruncated(sp), 3 finger gauntlets Ive seen.
I just started SCA fighting for real, but I've been fightin in other groups for a long time. I came totaly compete on this field if I can work out my kit.
Thanks

It's not bifuricated, but Dave (Cet) at Rough From The Hammer sells the finger kits in stainless steel (seperate fingers). They don't ground out on the rattan though.

I see alot of fingers that don't ground on the stick. It seems like folks don't really mind. How big a deal is it?
I want safe hands, but I don't want any overkill either. I need mobility.
Right now I'm wearing leather mittens I made from sole bend. They are safe as hell and great for big weapons but I don't like them on a one hand sword. They get caught up on the hilt.
$115 ain't bad. If those are safe I could dig em.

I don't have any firm persona ideas yet. I'm not sure what style Im looking for. Mainly I'm after performance.
I asume that the wisby type has the splinted cuff? I really like those. I'm not such a fan of the3 long pointy cuff.
Mainly I just need fingers and a real nice thumb.

Whonew's Wisby gauntlets are probably the safest I have seen. I don't know why, but they just take impact shock amazingly well.

Whonew, are you still taking trades? I didn't get a reply on my trade offer to you a while back. If it's not suitable, let me know and I will have to grovel to the wife for project funding. :D
