Val Day bummer

Post by Hrolfr »

Rotten luck. I had hoped to attend Val Day this year, and see both my Knight (Sir Morgan Olander), my foster (Sir Garth of the Crags) and one of my 'pole-arm gods' HRH Sir Tom.

Alas, real life has conspired against me.

Lost the brakes on my F150 and a new engine for the wifes car (it threw a rod), so ALL of my meager discretionary funds are gone (plus some) until ye olde tax refund gets back.....

I was really hoping to fight in what will be an excellent ToC, see a friend get elevated to the Chiv, and fight with my unbelt brothers, but......

GAHHHHHHH!!!!

Geez that sucketh mightily

at least the brakes should be a reasonably affordable fix, the engine.... not so much.

Actually, the engine was $700 in and out.

The brakes will be about the same....

Go figure.

The sucketh-ness ith mighty! Sorry to hear.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. -Aristotle

So, you have the car fixed and running?

Truck to be soon so?

Let me know.

With 4 of us and my armor and Will's boffer stuff, prolly need a bus

Thanks for the thought, but it is also fairly close to the MiL, and she'd be really ticked if we went past without her seeing the grandkids (and I get along with her, so I try not to get on her bad side  ).
