Quick question - is the ceiling fabric, and if so, is it a digital print? It looks fabulous! Not having your shop resources I was wondering what I could do on my own besides pulling out the paintbruhses and canvas.:-)

I've been watching this thread for a while and this project is really amazing and inspiring. My lady and I are really looking forward to seeing your house but we are only going to be at Pennsic for the second week... But I'll try to let some of the land grabbers from my shire know about this and maybe they would be interested in helping with setup. Your house is seriously one of the first things I want to run off and find after we set up camp and I wish we could be there to see how it goes together. If I ever get my period printing press built I want to build a nice little german looking building that breaks down for storage so I can have my Pennsic printshop.

Chris, I am truly in awe of your house and will definitely be down your way during war week to take massive amounts of pictures. I have to admit that I keep hoping to see that you will be raffling it off at the end of Pennsic........ I got to see Gaston's house on Tuesday night along with several other Archivers and the pictures don't really do it justice.

Gaston was a gracious host, considering he sustained a nasty cut on his chest and shoulder while assembling the house at Pennsic. Less hearty men might have gone to bed for a week and begged off from hosting and socializing.

And Gregory/Gerhard gets big thanks for leading the way from Your Inner Vagabond to Casa Bardicci. He displayed his innate goodness along the way. Some ladies stopped to inquire where a particular camp was. Gregory directed them off in one direction, only to realize shortly after that we were passing the camp in the other direction. He ran off into the night, found the lost ladies, and led them back to the camp they were looking for.

Can't wait until everyone's pictures start filtering in... Alas, I was lazy and didn't take any.

The house, the ambiance, the host and even the butler Gerhard were all amazing. Talk about really putting one in the moment. It is truly unfathomable as to all the minute details and work that went in to crafting this wonderful house.

Also, I have to apologize profusely for single-handedly devouring all the cashews I could lay my hands on.

Thank you for everything, Sir Gaston, it was truly a step back in time.

Got back from Pennsic Tuesday night. Gerhard was a huge help, my thanks to him.
Thanks to all the Archivers who came down Tuesday, it was great to meet you all. My apologies for not being able to spend more time with all of you, I seemed to be running here and there all night.

As some may have heard, I had a scaffold brake on Tuesday and I fell from the house, got a small tear in my chest. But with good friends, some stitches, I was back working away on Wednesday.
When I designed the scaffold system, I did not take into account I may be tired and not pay attention to what part of the bar system I was resting the plank on. Well I set it up with the plank on the “locking barâ€

You know, I've been trying to think of something to say about this thing....really nothing coherent comes to mind. Just a lot of unintelligible noises of awe and wonder.

I am amazed. Well and truly amazed.

How did you manage to get a full two stories and still be under the max height requirements?

Really, anything I think of just fall short of expressing how extraordinary this looks in the photos. Can't imagine what it's like to be in it.

It is because the bottom floor is only 4" thick and the ceiling (second floor) is only 1" thick (not counting the beams) and the interior head room is slightly more than 7 ft. downstairs and slightly less than 7 ft. upstairs.

what you missed is the other famous people he had portraites of: Cameron Diaz, Natilie Portman, Angelina Jolie, Robert Duval (my fav), Yoda, etc... They were all quite impressive.

The reproduction windows were fabulous. The painted beams on the 1st floor ceiling were divine - not the panels; the beams themselves. And yes, to wake up and look from the comfort of one's bed unto the Cooper's Lake every morning must have been fantastic.
