Help with an Effigy

Between the mace and sword there is something that resembles a dagger, but based from other effigies I've seen his one looks nothing like the other daggers.

What do you think it is?

As a side note I've never seen such a heavily armed and armoured Chef! Cooking for the royalty of France must be a dangerous profession.

I think it may be an illustration issue. If you look at this image, it appears more like a standard ballock dagger (as opposed to this one, which looks more like a stick, I guess).

I missed that version... thanks! Think he was so heavily armed to defend himself against the two wives or was the kitchen really that rough 'n tumble?
