I for one think it's a great idea as the "other major WMA press" stopped publishing new books that have been submitted to them a while back.

I know as a Messer guy of one book I'd love to see printed, but alas it's been sitting unpublished in the "other major WMA press" queue since 2004 or so. Not looking good at this time. Sigh.

But I'm excited about Freelance Academy Press as the first 2 books are rock solid and the Press itself is headed up by a group of writers that I know and respect.

Heck, my copy of "In Saint George’s Name" is winging it's way North as I type. If you have any interest in German Longsword the inclusion of CHT von Danzig translation makes it a must have. vD is chuck full of advance moves to whip a lesser swordsman ass before he knows what hits him.

Thanks for the words of support folks! Sorry to respond late to this, but as you might imagine it's been a crazy week.

Dr. Forgeng's Leckuchner messer book is going to be published by Boydell & Brewer later this year (November, I believe). I've known this for some time, but it apparently has just become public knowledge.

@David: In Saint George's Name has been a really interesting project for me. It doesn't just contain the Von Danzig translation, but also a series of other chapters containing essays on the art, some instructional modules on Peter Falkner's dagger, Paulus Kal's Messer & wrestling, an anonymous poleaxe treatise, and more. It's a collection of subjects I've long wished to have the problem venue for.
