polearm vs sword and shield?

Post by drust »

Hey guys, I'm looking for some books or videos that compare the two. The reason I'm looking is for a speech class and I'm doing a persuasive speech on the two. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
Because as we all know, polearm is the better of the two.
Thanks,

In the SCA or the real world? In the SCA, the polearm, which is a mass weapon, has been turned into a finesse weapon, more akin to a sword on a stick than a real polearm.

Thanks guys.

Kaio, you consider it a finesse weapon, you should ask Skar or Bowen about finesse when fighting against Ivan.

And to let all of you know, the period style of fighting with these weapons is what I want to know.

What I meant was that in our game, you can't bludgeon someone to "death" through a shield, break said shield or even chop off spear hafts. These were very important period uses of polearms.

Ivan eh? I'll ask.

Durst,

I have a couple videos for Polearm against S/Sh

Look me up at an even and I'll give you some one on one pointers.
Sometimes you get the Duke you need instead of the one you want.
