I'm curious about the sudden deluge of Ukrainian grand bascinets.

Is this SCA legal without some sort of visor latch?
Starting 23 Sept. I'll be walking 60 miles over three days to support the end of breast cancer.

many folks can make them here... but none at that price.

And the questions about the Ukrainian grand bascinets have been answered several times.

They are all guys who studied with one armorer, and they are all working from the same patterns.

Nope. The liner may not be all it should be either.
I'd also feel better if I knew it was raised: dish & weld for 14g mild is going to have a lifespan in the SCA.
Regardless, I'd easily pay 350 for it, if I was into early 15th c and didn't have my own armor shop.
Stuff I will trade for: PWM controllers, steel sheet/rod/bar (4130/410/1050/toolsteel), ITC, casting supplies, wood tools, silver, oxpho blue, gun stuff (9luger/357mag/12g/7.62x54R/22LR), hammers, stakes, or pitch me!

This helmet was dished and welded of two pieces of 14 gauges mild steel. (regular steel).

The visor straps could be made for it if someone want it. It`s a question of the 5 minutes.

Liner was done specially for this helmet and fit very well if you have right circumference of the head. :)

BTW: Most of the historic analog of this type`s helmet was made without visor straps. I don`t know why but I think they know something.

Thank you for looking.

I agree on the visor straps, it is just that I would want to fight in it (SCA) if I got it, and to do that it needs to meet all of those SCA requirements.

I need to get home so I can measure my head.
