Clovenshield Banner for a List Field on a SCA Spear

Post by Aaron »

Hi,

I would like to commision a Clovenshield Banner, ~3 feet by ~2 feet (give or take) that can hang from a SCA spear that will adorn the "list field" Sean Powell and I will fight in when we fight 75 counted blows.

Requirements:

1. Must have the Clovenshield Logo (see attached picture). Some artistic leeway is granted.

2. Must be in my hands NLT 01APR10.

3. It must be some form of cloth...no paper banners. Nylon is fine IMO, if necessary.

4. Must be an Armour Archive member who makes the banner. Isabella, Reverand George, etc...I'm talking to YOU!

With respect,

-Aaron

We'll be finishing this fight from history:

+++++++++++++++
'Lalain began his eight fight in this month, with Gaspart de Dourtain (Chastelain calls him Courtain), who asked for 75 axe strokes, Chastelain says 64. Lalain this time dispensed with the right greave but otherwise was armed as usual. Dourtain had a bascinet with the visor closed. When they engaged Lalain showered many blows on the visor of his adversary, but at last got the spike broken off his axe, seeing which Dourtain redoubled his assaults. So they fought for a long time all over the lists, each keeping his position and the advantage of the sun. At last Lalain caught hold of Dourtain's axe between his left hand and the lower end, when the judge stopped the fight.'
+++++++++++++++

http://tinyurl.com/ycd4vjj

And we'll have two people counting the blows for us. With our rigs, sometimes a strike isn't noticed, and when I've got the helmet on my mind is that of a toddler...I can count to three, maybe.

It's just two armoured friends having fun playing in history and enjoying a nice afternoon.

I'll be asking (plead if required) Sir Tashius to do the video photography and Ursus of Anglesley to do the photography. We might even make a nice Tournaments Illuminated article.

But we'll have fun, regardless!

With fun,

-Aaron

I have the ability to print using archival ink on rolled matte canvas.

The color will be sealed using a sprayed colorlok sealant and the ink is guaranteed not to fade for (yes i am serious) +/- 73 years dependent on time in sun versus time not.

Good Day Lufu,

My Dread Lord has already spoken and spoken well. Sir Morejellow has already made a banner just like I'm asking for. It's now a matter of talk over price.

On the primary combatants? or those who happened to wander into camp and became random targets?

Dude, you did not get hit more than a couple of times.

And Aaron, the banners Morejello made me were triangular, but I am sure he can make whatever shape you want.

Verygood - just wanted to offer up my equipment as a low-cost option if needed.

Say what? Not that I know of. If you wanna try and hit me 100 times we can scrap,I guess.

The banner I got was to show the arms of my employer at gulf wars along with the company logo.
