Bâton seminar this Saturday at the Higgins
Reminder: The bâton seminar is this Saturday from 11a-1p, based on traditional martial arts systems from France and Italy. Topics will include manipulating the weapon, footwork, fencing theory as applied to the bâton, attack/defense drills, and the advanced artistic acrobatics that make baton such an exciting spectacle. Workshop participants are advised to wear comfortable clothing with long pants and athletic footgear. Loaner equipment is supplied, but we recommend bringing fencing equipment and heavy gloves (lacrosse, hockey, Revival kevlar gloves, etc.) if you have them. The cost is $20, the class is open to age 16 and up, and space is limited. For inquiries and reservations, contact the museum at (508) 853-6015.
