Looking for Verveilles

Post by WilliamThomas »

My man at arms is getting a new helm together and we are in need of some Verveilles. Who has them, where is the best place to get them?

Windrose also sells them in different shapes and in Bronze, Steel or Brass:

Edited to add: I have the Bronze cast verveilles on MY helm and love them.

I have a simple philosophy: Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. Scratch where it itches.

Windrose's threaded verveilles are very easy to use and I like them very much!
Plus their service is awesome!

Is Clang still in business? I bought a set of tube vervelles from him a few years ago, if you are interested in that style and they are appropriate for the helmet in question.

I love the ease and look of the threaded brass ones. Just buy extra because they shear off pretty easy. But since they are threaded they are easy to replace.

Yeah-CLANG's still in business. ;)

My site's down right now because I'm getting ready to move to clangarmory.com, but here's a link to an old post with info on my brass vervelles:

http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB2/ ... =vervelles

I think it says so in the post, but I was kinda dis-pleased with the brittle-ness of the Horton Brasses posts. That and several other factors finally led me to make my own.

I have the Windrose ones in my helm. I actually just snapped two of them off recently (direct impacts, and I should add this was a result of how hard I was hit, not a ding at the items themselves at all!), which has never happened before.

I'll be ordering replacements shortly. Yeah, they're that good. ;) No question about it. They look great, have taken a ton of beatings, and overall could not be happier.

After having three brass ones snap off from direct hits I switched to stainless ones from Talbot.
