Posting these up here as Ugo isn't able. This is a collection of the progress pictures he has sent me. It is a roman musculata to go along with the scorpion/hair/cavalry helm he finished for me last year. (Link for helm pics:
http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB2/ ... &start=210 )
The musculata will be getting the same case hardening as the helmet.
Pics!

What the shit!? That is unbelievable.
The smooth, precise details of that face at that scale boggles my mind.
What gauge is this in?

A couple from when I went for sizing (Why do Ugo and I always end up in a parking lot???)
Pre medusa, and not sized to my body, but an idea of how the two pieces will work together.

The Medusa looks like an Carribean male to me.Although I wouldn't be surprised if that goes away once the piece is finished.
I also want to note that my comment is not a complaint or critique at all. It looks absolutely fabulous.

Caribbean male? Please. It's obviously an Avatar. Ugo knows what he's doing.

Whenever the legislators endeavor to take away and destroy the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved from any further obedience

Medusa has snakes instead of hair, this has hair and wings. Haven't you watched the movies?

awww, youz guys are funny!
This is my first piece since the arm surgery, still twinges a bit but I'm glad to be back. I won't be fighting for a couple of months.
I'm trying to get the snakes done soon and give the rest of the musculata a final planishing before I do another fitting and roll the edges. I've got a job to do for Gilman (...which better hurry up & get here..grumble,grumble.) and I'm visiting my pappy for his 70th this coming week. So there won't be any more shots for about 2 weeks. But then I'll take some on the progress on the back and all the leatherwork being made for this project.
I've got a couple of beautiful high-end commissions coming up; a gorgon helmet ( like the Alexander lion helmet from the movie but with a gorgon instead) a russian monstrosity (12 ga stainless NEVERr again!!)

You know, it oughtta be a law; anybody who's had elbow surgery simply shouldn't be allowed to throw a hammer at 12 gauge stainless!
